Ideas on recycling Styrofoam/Polystyrene or an alternative for KIDS CRAFTS?
As a basic project for kids print making a small square of Styrofoam is used to make an indent for the print. After the indent, it is coated with paint then the image is transfered to a clean piece of paper. The Styrofoam has a short, yet essential role in this project, and then it is thrown away. How would I recycle this, or is there a different, eco-friendly material that makes indents just as clear? I have researched on earth911.com I can mail this out to a company but would it be acceptable covered in paint? Please let me know of any ideas or alternatives! Styrofoam takes around 500 years to bio-degrade!
I break styrofoam up into bits and place in the bottom of plant pots before adding the soil. This creates better drainage and makes the pot weigh less.
